The district administration,dumka will organize the Inaugural Dumka literature festival on 16 and 17 April 2022 at the state library(Rajakiye pustakalay). Eminent writers and poets from across the country will participate and  discussions on various aspects of the importance of library, the impact of literature on art-culture, on society, book publishing, travel, wildlife, language etc.  The Festival is being organized with the aim of promoting education and literature in the district of dumka.  The district administration is trying to make people aware of various activities so that maximum citizen become a part of this festival. 

The historic Brahmashil Pustakalya or Mobile Library Van has been renovated and put on public display. Used by the State Library (established 1956) in the 1950s. To promote literature in Santhal Pargana.

In this Sahitya Samagam, the country's Sahitya Akademi Awarded Mr. Nilotpal Mrinal, Internationally renowned novelist and critic Mr. Chandrahas Choudhary, Internationally renowned author and Indian Foreign Service officer Rajat Ubhaykar, Executive Director of Vani Prakashan Mrs. Aditi Maheshwari, Noted ornithologist and Renowned litterateurs like conservationist Mr. Bikram Grewal and Internationally renowned author Mr. Mihir Vats will participate in this program.

Different sessions will be organized on the first day in the Inaugural Dumka literature festival. Books will be discussed in three to four separate sessions in addition to the concluding session on the second day. In these sessions, the author will discuss the book and after that the book will be discussed and there will be Q&A in the session.

The historic itinerant library has been renovated. It was used by the State Library (established 1956) in the 1950s. Now it has been equipped to be used again. Soon people will be able to use it as an antique.This historical touring library, established in 1956, was made available to the State Library of Dumka in 1958, this mobile library van, built on the chassis of a Fargo truck, required one liter of fuel every three km to run. Till 1974, it was a medium of access for book lovers in the entire Santal Pargana.

The touring library vehicle, which was once the pride of the Government Library Santal Pargana, will once again be seen by the people. Once again the touring library vehicle has been made an attraction of the state library. It will be painted and will be enjoyed soon as a special collection.

After running 76277 km, this touring library vehicle made in American company Fargo Truck had been lying like this since 1974. Now along with the rejuvenation of the state library, this traveling library vehicle has also been decorated. This vehicle used to carry a trolley along with it to reach the book lovers of the remote areas of Santal Parganas. In which four cycles were loaded. In the event of this vehicle not reaching the villages, text material and news information were delivered by cycles only.

The district administration took the initiative to beautify the state library, drawing attention. He deputed teachers-non-teaching staff here for this. Prepared a list of books. Now it is being cataloged. Dumka district's website built in NIC's server, so that people can get information about the availability of books.
